FAQ

Shinkansen group questions

Why 10 passengers or more?

This service is only for group bookings of 10 passengers or more. Smaller parties should book directly with JR, for example through JR's online reservation services or at a JR ticket office.

How early should we book?

Reserved seats go on sale about one month before travel at 10:00 Japan time. Seats on peak dates can sell out quickly, so please send your request as early as possible.

Can the whole group sit together?

We request seats together in the same car wherever possible. Final seat allocation is made by JR and cannot be guaranteed.

How do we receive the tickets?

We deliver the physical tickets to your hotel near a Shinkansen station before your first journey. We also send you photos of the tickets in advance for your reference.

How do we pay?

Seats on popular trains can sell out within moments, so we accept payment by credit card in Japanese yen (JPY) only. Our quoted price already includes the credit card charge (approx. 3.8%), so there is nothing extra to pay. Before you pay, we check availability; if your chosen train is already full, we will recommend an alternative train for you to approve. Once payment is received, we make the reservation straight away and send you the booking confirmation shortly after.
